I love St. Patrick's Day! True St. Patrick getting rid of all the snakes in Irland, does not have much to do with me, but maybe that is what I like about this holiday. This day is not like all the other holidays in my life. I do not have to visit my family, spend hours excruciating over gifts, or even send out post cards. I do not have to make small talk at awkward parties or sing extremely old songs. I do not have to dress up and get kissed on cheek my an elderly woman who, "knew me since you were this tall."
In stead I get to wear what ever crazy outfit I want to, I get to run around with my friends, or just stay home and bake green cookies. I love this holiday because I can celebrate this day anyway I want to, without having to keep up with traditions. St. Patrick's Day is one of the only holidays I can make my own traditions for.
